Stanley Westh

Background

Stanley is a cornettist and associate conductor with the Royal Danish Life Guards Band in Copenhagen — a position he won by audition in 2015. He began his musical career in Prins Jørgens Garde and spent many years as principal cornet and conductor of Concord Brass Band, one of the finest brass bands in Denmark.

As a soloist

Stanley has made his mark at the highest level. He was named Northernbrass.dk’s “Instrumentalist of the Year” in both 2010 and 2011, won the principal soloist prize at the Swedish championships in 2010, and helped take Concord to the Danish championship in 2013. He is also a Yamaha Artist and has played with a long list of prize-winning bands, among them Eikanger-Bjørsvik Musikklag and the Fairey Band in England.

Today

Stanley is much in demand as a tutor and conductor with a variety of ensembles, and alongside his work with OBG Brass he is also the regular conductor of Dania Brass Band.

The band is delighted to have Stanley as its regular conductor.
