Would you like to play brass music to a high standard in a friendly, informal band? Then OBG Brass might be for you.
Why OBG?
A band that plays well — without the pressure of competing
Standard
Experienced players
OBG’s members are experienced brass players and we perform to a high standard. Musical quality, playing well together and a polished sound all matter to us — without ever losing the good humour.
Philosophy
No competitions
We have made a deliberate choice not to enter Danish or international brass band competitions. We would rather spend the time on what brings us together: playing good music for each other and for our audiences.
Season
A predictable rhythm
The year is built around a settled concert plan of five or six concerts — spring and autumn concerts, Christmas concerts and the occasional guest appearance. On top of that we normally hold one rehearsal weekend a year.
Who are we looking for?
Vacant chairs
We have room for experienced brass players who can see themselves in a brass band in the English tradition. At the moment we are particularly looking for:
Other parts may open up as well — do get in touch if you play another brass instrument and are interested.
What can you expect?
The practical side
We rehearse every Monday evening from 6:45 to 9:45 pm at Fuglevad Mølle. The repertoire is varied — from original brass band music through film scores to modern compositions. Over the year we give five or six concerts, including spring and autumn concerts, Christmas concerts, and appearances at SMUK and BrassBandBattle.
There are around 25 of us, all mature players who care about the standard of the music and about each other’s company. The atmosphere is relaxed, but the ambition is clear: to make music that means something to the band and to the audience alike.
